1. How do I participate in the contest?
- Download the brochure from the website iha2021.lorealprofessionnel.in
- Pick your award category (Creative or Business)
- Pick your sub- category under Creative or Business
- Read the rules of entry
- Create your French Balayage look on any model (for the Creative Awards)/ Download the guidelines form (for the Business Awards)
- Click pictures as per the format mentioned in the brochure (for the Creative Awards) / Prepare your case study (for the Business Awards)
- Fill in the online form
- Upload the pictures (for the Creative Awards)/ Upload your case study (for the Business Awards)
- Make the payment

2. Can I participate in more than one Creative Award category?
No, each team can participate in only one Creative Award category.

3. Can I participate in more than one Business Award category?
Yes, a salon business can enter into multiple awards under the Business Award category.

4. Who can participate in the contest?
Any hairdresser can participate in the Indian Hairdressing Awards as long as they have the citizenship of India. However, there are some basic criteria for certain Award categories. The hairdressers need to have a LEAP code to participate. If not, then please contact your local sales representative to initiate your LEAP code.
The Young Colorist Award - only hairdressers born on or after 1st January 1998 can participate.
The Young Entrepreneur Award – only hairdressers born on or after 1st January 1991 can participate.
The Business Awards - salons/salon chains in India are eligible to participate.
For salons/salon chains participating in the Best SoComm Salon Award, they need to have a SoComm account.

5. How much is the entry fee for The Creative or Business Awards?
The entry fee for each award category under The Creative or Business Awards is INR 500.

6. Can I participate in IHA even though I/my salon does not buy L’Oreal Professionnel products?
Yes, you can participate in IHA even though you/your salon does not buy L’Oréal Professionnel products. However, in order to qualify for the contest your French Balayage look must be created exclusively with L’Oréal Professionnel products only. Any hairdresser participating under the creative Awards category must have a LEAP code for registration. In case this is not available, please contact the local L’Oreal Professionnel representative to initiate the same.

7. Can I participate in IHA if I am a student at the L’Oreal ARTH Academy?
The current batch #35 of ARTH Academy is not allowed to participate in IHA.

8. I have couriered/handed over the hard copies of my entry to the L’Oreal Office/L’Oreal Professionnel representative. Will my entry be accepted?
No. Indian Hairdressing Awards 2021 follows a digital entry process. The entry form must be filled online and digital images need to be uploaded on iha2021.lorealprofessionnel.in Hard copies of any kind will not be accepted.

9. I missed my deadline for uploading entry for the Creative/Business Awards on or before the 30th of November. Can I upload it on the 1st of December?
Sorry, no late entries will be accepted. The website will not accept any entries from 1st December 2021.

11. Will there be a Regional Round this time?
There will not be a regional round this time.

12. How will I get to know if I am selected for the National Finale?
The shortlist for The National Finale will be announced after the entries submission stage at a specified date. There will be an SMS and an e-mail communication to the participant. Please keep checking the IHA website for updates and details

13. Do I need to have the same model for the National Finale?
No. If selected for The National Finale, you will be provided with a new model during the Technical Round. You will have to create a French Balayage look on this new model that suits her face.

14. Do I need to have my own make-up artist and stylist for the National Finale?
No. If selected for The National Finale, L’Oreal Professionnel will provide you with a model, make-up artist and stylist to complete your French Balayage look.

15. What products do I use during the Technical Round at the National Finale?
You will have to create a French Balayage look with l’Oreal Professionnel products that is natural looking, seamless and cool toned.

16. What all looks are possible under the French Balayage technique?
A French Balayage look can vary from subtle to bold. Please remember the following while creating your look:
- Follow seamless pre-lightening and blending
- Toning has to be with natural looking shades
- Reds/ burgundies or any other shade which is not natural-looking will be disqualified
- Avoid a very high level of contrast while pre-lightening (a contrast to a max of 4 levels is acceptable)
